Why we're doing this

Parque Niños Unidos was built by this community — neighbors who spent a decade advocating for a place where children could play and families could gather. We want to honor that legacy by keeping it clean and welcoming every single day.

When we keep our park clean, we signal to everyone who visits — and everyone who lives here — that this place is loved. Cleanliness breeds care. Care breeds community.

What you need

Picker Garbage bag 15 minutos

No picker? We'll get you one — just note it when you sign up.

What we're not

No meetings. No commitments. No drama. Just neighbors who show up when they can, as often as they can.

Frequently asked

Isn't there already a program that does this?
SF Rec & Parks and the SF Parks Alliance run periodic organized cleanups — but they're occasional, not daily. This fills the gap.
Isn't this Parks & Rec's job?
Technically yes — and they do their best across 230+ parks citywide. But daily litter pickup isn't always possible. We're filling the gap.
Is there a specific time I need to go?
Nope — go whenever works. Morning, after school pickup, evening walk. Any time helps.
What if I can't make my usual day?
Go another day that week if you can, or skip guilt-free. The program works because enough neighbors show up consistently.
Can I bring my kids or friends?
Absolutely — the more the merrier. Kids love the picker.
I see something that needs city attention — what do I do?
Report it via the SF311 app or call 311. Don't handle hazardous material yourself.
How else can I help?
Spread the word on Nextdoor, your building group chat, or to parents at school pickup. If you want a bigger role, reach out to Lauren directly.
